Brand story
The short version.
Founded in 1910 and now run by the 4th generation of the founding family, Xene Gallery makes one-of-a-kind fine art metalwork by hand in London. Our work draws on the visual grammar of Persepolis, Isfahan and the wider Persianate world, executed through traditional Iranian techniques — Qalamzani (chasing), Noghre-koobi (silver inlay), Tala-koobi (gold inlay), and Mina-kari (vitreous enamel).
We accept bespoke commissions worldwide for private collectors, corporate clients, and royal and diplomatic presentations, and restore antique Persian metalwork. Signature work includes The Lion of Persepolis in steel, copper and gold.

A note on craft terminology.
Qalamzani covers tool-work such as chasing and engraving; noghre-koobi is silver inlay and tala-koobi is gold inlay. Mina-kari refers to vitreous enamel work. These processes can be combined, but they are not synonyms. For explanatory features, the craft guides provide a starting point for terminology and technique.
When describing an individual work, identify its actual materials and distinguish contemporary heritage-inspired making from an antique attribution. An enamelled, gilded or inlaid surface should not be described as solid precious metal unless the underlying material supports that description.
Requesting images or an interview.
Include the publication, proposed subject, deadline and the images or details you need. For an image request, mention the intended print or digital use and ask for the relevant work title, material description and credit. For an interview, indicate whether your focus is contemporary making, Persian craft heritage, commissioning or conservation so the inquiry has a clear context.
