Questions answered
FAQ
The questions we hear most often, with direct answers. If yours isn't here, write to Hi@XeneGallery.com.
Are all pieces handmade?
Yes — every piece is forged, chased, inlaid and finished by hand in our London atelier. We do not cast or mass-produce.
How do I start a commission?
Write to Hi@XeneGallery.com or use the commission form. We reply within two working days with next steps. Work begins once a brief is agreed and a deposit (typically 50%) is received.
How long does a commission take?
Small studies and vessels: 6–10 weeks. Mid-scale sculpture: 3–6 months. Monumental and architectural work: 6–18 months. Lead time is confirmed in the proposal.
Where do you ship?
Worldwide, via insured fine-art couriers. Title and risk pass on delivery. International orders may incur import duties payable by the recipient.
How are pieces packed?
In bespoke fitted cases or museum-grade crates depending on scale, with humidity control and shock protection for international transit.
How do I care for handmade metalwork?
Dust with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Avoid chemical polishes — gold and silver inlays can be lifted. For deeper cleaning or re-patination, return the piece to the atelier.
Do you authenticate antique Persian metalwork?
Yes. We provide written appraisals for antique Qajar, Safavid and earlier pieces. Email photographs and provenance to Hi@XeneGallery.com.
Do you offer restoration?
Yes — see our restoration page. We restore antique Persian and Iranian metalwork using museum-grade, reversible methods.
What materials do you work in?
24K gold, sterling silver, copper, bronze and steel. Surface treatments include qalamzani (chasing), noghre-koobi (silver inlay), tala-koobi (gold inlay), and mina-kari (vitreous enamel).
Do you accept corporate or diplomatic commissions?
Yes. We have produced royal presentation pieces, diplomatic gifts and corporate awards. NDAs and confidential commissions are welcome.
Can I visit the atelier?
By appointment only. Email Hi@XeneGallery.com to arrange a visit in London.
What is your returns policy?
Bespoke and commissioned works are non-returnable. Stock pieces may be returned within 14 days of delivery in original condition; refunds within 14 days of receipt. See our terms for full details.
Is there a warranty?
One year against defects in materials and craftsmanship. Excludes wear, accidental damage and unauthorised repairs.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer in GBP, EUR or USD. Other arrangements by request and confirmed in your invoice.
